Job Description

The Accounting Assistant is an established performer that supports the department by completing clerical work and monitoring records. This role also serves as a point of contact to resolve any questions from internal or external stakeholders for assigned accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

• Prepare and publish monthly journal entries.
• Prepare general ledger accounts reconciliations for assigned accounts and take necessary steps to troubleshoot and correct issues.
• Review balance sheet reports and report any significant fluctuations in accrued liabilities.
• Contact IT if reconciliation downloads are not functioning properly.
• Perform system administrator duties for the Rebate System (Vistex).
• Work to resolve discrepancies in the balancing process between Vistex and SAP.
• Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of accounting procedures, policies, and standards.
• Assist with training less experienced team members, include quality checking their work, training, technical guidance, and serving as a resource for resolution of issues.
• Assist management with planning, implementing, and monitoring department goals.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 0-2 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products with highly strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of accounting terminology, practices, and concepts.
• High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
