Senior Accountant, Revenue Recognition

Location: Rockville, MD
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant, Revenue Recognition to join a dynamic accounting team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate revenue reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and brings strong analytical and technical accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain revenue tracking schedules and standard financial reports.
• Manage monthly revenue transactions in the General Ledger and Revenue Subledger, including calculating and accruing estimates.
• Prepare asset and liability balance sheet reconciliations and roll-forward schedules; recommend and post adjusting journal entries.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, identify revenue adjustments, accruals, and explain variances.
• Perform month-end revenue analysis and quarterly marketing allowance payments and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in corporate accounting or a mix of public and corporate accounting (highly preferred).
• Education: BS in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP).
  • Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under tight deadlines in a complex environment.
